Game of Thrones Iceland Tour

Discover the Game of Thrones filming locations from the third, fourth & the upcoming fifth season.

Our new Independent Game of Thrones Summer and Winter tour gets you to where the winter lasts a lifetime and the battle for the Iron Throne continues. Staying in Iceland's groovy capital, Reykjavik, you will enjoy two day tours south to see the attractions within the Golden Circle and the Thingvellir National Park (Þingvellir). The Thingvellir National Park is where the Althing, an open-air assembly representing the whole of Iceland, was established in 930 and continued to meet until 1798. It is a very significant place for all Icelanders and anyone passionate about history and democracy. In Westeros, Thingvellir National Park was used as a filming location and for the first time, Iceland will be seen in its summer beauty, as it will show Arya's and Sandor Clegane's journey from village to village in mid-Westeros.

Depending on the season, during these two day tours, you can go caving, glacier walking, swimming in Icelandic lakes, search for the Northern Lights and spend time in natural hot springs and bath houses in the South of Iceland.

Then it is off the "Land beyond the Wall" - near Akureyri and Mývatn Nature pools. Joining the organised 'Game of Thrones Mystery & Magic Tour', you will hear stories and see specific locations used in Season Three.

Specific spots that you will visit on Day 5:
  • Visit the areas where Night's Watchmen, including Samwell Tarly and Lord Commander Mormont, are attacked by the White Walkers.
  • Walk the land that Jon Snow, Ygritte and the Free Folk cross to reach the Wall.
  • Visit the cave where Jon Snow and Ygritte have their first intimate romantic encounter.
