Greetings from Stockholm at Christmas
Alice is home for Christmas and it finally feels like Christmas with the smells of Glögg (mulled wine), gingerbread cookies and burnt almonds roaming the streets.

Stockholm is beautiful this time of year, we had a night at our preferred hotel Rival prior to flying up to Lapland.
Café in the old town
We had the pleasure of joining a Christmas Spirit tour and learned about where the custom of placing advent candles in the window comes from, what a julbord is, who the bearer of light is and what Swedish santa looks like. The tour ended at one of the oldest candy stores in Gamla Stan, where they still make candy like the good old days and we enjoyed a glass of glogg to warm up our bodies.
Candy in the Christmas market
We went back to the Christmas market on the main square in Gamla Stan and each evening at 6:15 pm they have a live advent calendar, where a window will open up and occasionally a famous person will appear.
